The DDN and the City office of PR have both called to say: oops.
It’s only $500K they want to put into the project- and it’s all CDBG Federal money- as if that makes it all OK.
It’s still Corporate Welfare. Press conference continues.
From the DDN site:
The story incorrectly reported the amount the city was considering to spend to help renovate the Crowne Plaza Hotel. The story should have said the city is considering spending $500,000. The cost of the project is expected to be $7 million to $8 million.
Note: The city of Dayton is now on Twitter- and no mention of this faux pas- there, or on the city site: FAIL
